Glycerin Glycerol CAS 56-81-5, Colorless, transparent and sweet viscous liquid and belongs to organic. It can absorb moisture, hy drogen sulfide, hy drogen cyanide from the air. Large quantity may cause anesthesia. It is the framework component of triglyceride molecule.
Glycerin known as glucerine, pure glycerol is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid with a sweet taste. Boiling point of 290 ºC, melting point 17.9 ºC, relative density of 1.2613. Infinitely miscible with water, dried over anhydrous glucerine has a strong water absorption.
1. Used in water analysis and as solvent, drying agent, lubricating agent, antifreezer, plasticizer etc;
2. Used in production of alkyd resin and epoxy resin;
3. Used in food processing, paper making, cosmetics, feather, photography, metal processing, rubber, textile dyeing, exp losives and other industries.
